Clik here to view.Each country’s language has its various dialects, and some are perceived as more attractive than others. According to a recent survey conducted on one thousand Germans by dating site FriendScout24, the Bavarian accent is the sexiest one in Germany. The Merkur newspaper quoted by The Local reveals that almost everyone thinks it is sexy to speak a regional dialect. In fact, 84% of those aged over 19 said they were drawn to regional accents and dialects. Things look different though in the young segment, as 45% of the people aged between 14-19 years don’t find dialects attractive.
The Bavarian regional dialect is considered to be the sexiest in Germany (26% of the votes), followed by the Austrian and North German ones (with 17%), Cologne dialect (Kölsch) with 15%, and Swiss dialect (Schweizerisch) 14.9%. The dialect spoken in Germany’s capital Berlin was the sixth one in German people’s preferences.
The least attractive five dialects are the ‘Pfälzisch’ one from the region of Rheinland-Pfalz on the French border (3.7%), the Saxon dialect (5.6%), the Hessian (Hessisch) dialect (6.3%), Frankish (Fränkisch) dialect (8.3%), and Swabian (Schwäbisch) dialect (12.7%).
